Is FOX News Really An Opposite Pole In The News Media?

President Obama with media, minus FOX
Media bowing down to worship President Barack Obama.

I found this meme in my Facebook feed today.

While conceptually accurate, I noticed that FOX News is noticeably absent from this lineup.

This is unfortunate because it means that the artist may have bought into the idea that FOX offers a real alternative to the other news media outlets. Unfortunately, this is not really the case. FOX gets its news from the same government trough as the rest of the establishment media.

While there appears to be some criticism of the President (as long as the President is a Democrat), the criticism rarely gets below the surface. Remember FOX news pushed the Republican candidates Mitt Romney and John McCain who were almost philosophically identical to Barack Obama. When you get past personalities, there is not much difference in governing philosophies.

The elite understand this, and FOX serves an important role for them: They propagate the illusion of an opposition while moving us away from individual liberty and further and further down the road of authoritarianism. Although there is a bit of ranting and name-calling on FOX, at the end of the day, the Democrats and Republicans are not polar opposites. In fact, they are very similar. They are both made up of statists who believe in big government and centralized authority. Every republic has gone this route because those who gain power understand how to manipulate the masses by promising them “free stuff.” The founders of our Constitution understood this.

Unfortunately, the masses are easily duped and enticed with promises of “free education,” “free health care,” “job security,” “a social safety net,” and other big government perks.

FOX is not truly an opposite pole in the debate. They simply represent the other party that is moving us toward the authoritarian society depicted in George Orwell’s “1984.” While it may be a more gradual shift when the Republicans are in power, it is still moving in the same steady direction, not in the opposite direction. FOX news is controlled by the establishment just as much as CNN, MSNBC, ABC, or any other news outlet depicted.

The problem is that whether you believe the Democrat lies or Republican lies, you are still traveling down the same path.

A good book on the topic is “Tragedy and Hope” by Carroll Quigley. He puts the plan of the elites out in the open. What is happening today is not a secret. But you won’t hear any discussion about this on either CNN or FOX.

  1. You are correct. The American people have been had by the political party ruse which extends to their respective news agents.
They have fallen for it hook, line and sinker.

There are very good and sound reasons why the Founders and Framers of the U.S. Constitution explicitly warned against political parties.

  2. Have you ever considered writing an ebook or guest authoring on other sites?
